Top experts and scholars from the fields of physics, astronomy and bioscience shared their views, the latest research findings and breakthroughs on cutting-edge science and technology at WE Summit 2020 held by Chinese tech behemoth Tencent on Saturday.
Ali Obaid Al Dhaheri, the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to China, said that the Arab-China connection had experienced a golden age during the 7th century, which encouraged trade to flourish and facilitated the exchange of scientific knowledge in medicines, mathematics and astronomy between the two great regions.

The move, according to Mao Shude, professor of astronomy at Tsinghua University and one of the initiators of the prize, is an epitome of China's optimized ecology on scientific research.
As of June 2023, a total of 248 young scientists in mathematics and physics, chemistry and new materials, astronomy and geoscience, advanced manufacturing and other frontier science and technology areas have been awarded the prize.
It ranked second in five fields: agriculture and phytology and zoology, geosciences, biology, physics as well as economics and psychology; but ranked low in two fields: clinical medicine as well as astronomy and astrophysics.
