Chinese online education startup Onion Math announced the upgrading of brand on Tuesday, which expands its business from mathematics to major subjects including Chinese and English.

With the move, the firm also rebranded its name as Onion Academy, which the company claimed will involve more subjects for the primary to high school period in the next step.

"No matter what the subject is, behind the firm is a product and solution that is powered by artificial intelligence and human machine interactive learning," said Yang Linfeng, CEO of Onion Academy.

It has launched a Taobao version of Xiaohongshu called Onion Box.

Currently, in BRI-related markets, ingredients like cardamom, fennel, shallot and onion are sourced locally, so the cost tends to be lower, giving Jinweide a strong competitive advantage in pricing.

Pan Jianyue, chief operating officer of Guangzhou-based lifestyle brand platform Onion Global, said African agricultural products and foods — including red wine from South Africa, coffee from Ethiopia and chocolates from Ghana — have entered the mainland market through new trade methods, including cross-border e-commerce platforms.

"India used to be a major onion exporting country, and it stopped exporting onions to further meet domestic demand.

"I can make dumplings, green onion pie, curry chicken rice and soybean pork bone soup with the help of the app.
