ASWAN, Egypt- Egypt and China's clean energy company TBEA Sunoasis started Tuesday the construction of four solar power stations at the Benban Solar Energy Park in Egypt's southern province of Aswan.
Governor of Aswan Magdy Hegazy, who attended the project's inauguration ceremony, said the total investment of the four stations is $180 million.
The mega project, comprising three combined cycle power plants and 12 wind parks, will generate a total output of 16.4 gigawatts, which are eight times as much as the output of the Aswan High Dam.
