Last month, the northern England company Hays Travel said it would buy all 555 of Thomas Cook's High Street stores in a deal said to be worth 6 million pounds.
All 555 high street stores that were operated by United Kingdom travel giant Thomas Cook before it went out of business on Sept 23 could be bought by rival company Hays Travel in a move that could save up to 2,500 jobs, the BBC reported on Wednesday.
The corporation said Hays has already employed 421 former Thomas Cook staff and plans to offer jobs to thousands more.
Hays currently has 190 shops in the UK.
More companies are taking similar actions in an effort to retain their top talent, whose eagerness to learn has been fueled by the digital era, said Jacky Carter, group digital engagement director at Hays PLC, a London-based global recruitment group.
Industrial automation is expected to become a key feature in the Chinese mainland's talent market next year amid rising manufacturing costs, according to global professional recruiting group Hays.
This is driving employers to consider the technical expertise of a candidate to be of paramount importance, above other factors such as leadership qualities or salary expectations," said Simon Lance, managing director at Hays China.
Hays' research also points to China's shift to domestic consumption as a key driver of economic growth.
The region is becoming a huge investment destination for many organizations across most industries and will remain attractive to top talent through 2019, Hays said.
