Scott Petty, chief technology officer for Vodafone UK, a leading telecoms company, said any reversal of the Huawei decision would deny the UK a technological advantage.

Vodafone chief technical officer Scott Petty says the company hopes that the UK government stops short of a full ban and allows the use of Huawei technology in peripheral parts of the network.

Petty says the company plans to install a further 500 stations during the next six months as it fleshes out its 5G infrastructure.

"You're talking 50, 60, 70 million pounds ($88 million) to replace – and you replace those instead of doing 500 new ones," Petty told technology site ZDNet.

For instance, they can know about current petty loans from different banks and financial institutions and how to apply for them.

After spending seven years in Brazil selling petty commodities, Sun returned to his home village of Sunzhuang in Caoxian county of Heze city, East China's Shandong province, in 2015, when e-commerce started to boom in China's rural areas.

"The UK's leadership in 5G will be lost if mobile operators are forced to spend time and money replacing existing equipment," Scott Petty, chief technology officer at Vodafone UK, told FT.

Nearly 20 million rural households in China borrowed some 858.6 billion yuan in petty loans from the ABC since 2008, it said.
